We’re looking for a skilled programmer to join us as a Game Engine Programmer.
Mediatonic are looking for an operationally-minded programmer who takes ownership of our Unity implementation structure, bespoke tools, optimisation and stability of the engine for design, code, platform deployment and live ops.
This role will require you to flex between different parts of the engine ensuring we have necessary custom editor tools and an optimal execution infrastructure on all deployed platforms, both client and server. Touching on everything between physics execution sub steps, render pipelines and HDR, optimal frame rates and net code as well as some really complex stuff with well structured code.
You’ll always be expected to perform code reviews, up hold best practises, understand the difference between Update and FixedUpdate and improve our core engine use. You’re a curious, fast learner, obsessed with fast yet readable code.
You’re a solid C# generalist programmer to support core tech with:
- An analytical mindset to diagnose, reproduce and fix obscure issues
- Unity fundamental architecture understanding
- Concurrency experience C# Jobs/Tasks
- CPU/Memory optimisation
- 3rd party systems integration skills for logging, analytics etc
- Unity tools building
- Render Pipeline
