Fortitude is a new studio based in Guildford, UK, dedicated to building innovative and creative games.By spring-boarding from parent company Mediatonic’s wealth of experience and connections, we’regrowing quickly and pouring heart and soul into developing exciting titles that provide players with surprising, polished and high-quality experiences that cut through a crowded marketplace.

We are looking for motivated and talented individuals with the passion and skills to deliver premium-quality games from day one, while growing as part of a small team working with original properties and acclaimed IPs to create a world-class games studio.


As we grow, we are looking for an experienced Technical Artist / VFX Artist to join our studio in Guildford and take our game polish and flair to a new level of excellence. The technical artist/VFX Artist is a key role in the studio, creating extraordinary and eye-catching assets and effects with one hand and implementing them with the other, while helping our team in the studio understand the technical processes and empowering them to play a larger role in the delivery pipeline and solve issues independently.

We’re expecting to see a portfolio of shipped work and proven experience with Unity — ideally with focus on mobile — and we are looking for personalities excited by the chance to join a rapidly growing team and help us set and achieve a new standard of quality and efficiency!


● Work closely with the art lead to build art tools and automation processes to improve efficiency of the studio’s art pipeline

● Create detailed and highly polished assets and effects that grab attention

● Take a key role in our asset bench marking, profiling and game optimisation processes

● Take initiative on creating new VFX for the games you work on

● Assist game teams with solving technical and production related art challenges

● Act as the glue to bind the art and engineering teams together!

  • Requirements

    The ideal candidate will have strong technical ability with Unity in regards to asset creation and implementation whilst being able to create VFX in Unity (Particles, Shaders)

    ● Experience working in 2D games and pipelines

    ● Experience working in mobile games

    ● Experience with Maya is a plus

    ● Experience working with stylized art is a plus
